Confidential Waste Shredding & Secure Document Destruction
Paper carries data too. Contracts, HR files, client records, financial paperwork — under UK GDPR they need the same end-of-life care as a hard drive, and a bin bag behind the office is a data breach waiting to be found. CITD provides secure confidential waste shredding for businesses, schools, universities and public sector organisations across England, Scotland and Wales: collected by our own BS 7858:2019 vetted staff, shredded at your premises or at our facility, and certified — with the same chain of custody we apply to data-bearing hardware.
Accreditation
ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 certified (Citation, certificate no. 336722020, valid to 2029), Cyber Essentials Plus, ICO registered (ZA246798) and fully UK GDPR compliant. Data erasure with Blancco, ADISA-certified software. Environment Agency licensed — Upper Tier Waste Carrier CBDU457411, Waste Storage Licence WEX476602 — with all staff BS 7858:2019 security vetted.
Certificates available on our licenses page or on request.

What We Destroy
Clearing paper alongside old IT? Documents and hardware can be collected on the same visit, under the same paperwork — one booking, one audit trail.
On-Site or Off-Site — Your Policy Decides
On-site shredding — destruction at your premises, witnessed if required, so confidential material never leaves your building intact. The right choice for strict information-security policies.
Off-site shredding — documents secured in locked containers, transported in our GPS-tracked vehicles by our own employed staff, and shredded at our alarmed, access-controlled facility.
Either way, destruction is carried out in accordance with BS EN 15713, the standard for secure destruction of confidential material, and you receive a certificate of destruction within five working days for your records.
One-Off Clearances or Scheduled Collections
Most confidential waste jobs are one-offs — an office move, an archive room reaching end of retention, a records purge before a fit-out. We handle those as single bookings, sized from a few boxes to a full storage floor. If your organisation generates confidential waste continuously, we can also arrange scheduled collections on set dates, so destruction becomes routine rather than a project.

What Happens to the Paper
Shredded paper doesn’t go to waste — it’s baled and recycled into new paper products, consistent with our policy that 100% of what we collect is diverted from landfill. An Environmental Impact / ESG Report is available on request, alongside your certificate of destruction and waste transfer note.
