It happens inside live environments, against maintenance windows, under access control, and every asset that leaves the floor has to be accounted for. Built Around Your Maintenance Window
Data centre work happens when the facility says it happens. We schedule decommissioning around your maintenance windows — out-of-hours, overnight and weekend work as standard — and our crews arrive induction-ready: BS 7858:2019 security-vetted staff, named in advance for your access control, working to your site rules and escort requirements. From single-visit rack clearances to phased, multi-visit migrations, the schedule is built around your operation, not ours. For universities and colleges, decommissioning can be planned into vacation periods when campus systems are quietest.
Asset-Level Accountability, From Rack to Report
Every item is logged at the point of removal: make, model, serial number, asset tag and hard drive serials, recorded in our ITAD portal and visible to you. Equipment travels in locked cages and secure containers in GPS-tracked vehicles operated by our own employed drivers — never couriers or subcontractors — to our Environment Agency licensed facility. Within five working days you receive the full audit report with serials, your WEEE disposal certificate and data destruction certificates — per device or consolidated — giving your compliance team a complete, verifiable record of the decommission.

Data Destruction — On the Floor or at Our Facility
Data-bearing media can be destroyed on-site before anything leaves your building — shredding available at your premises — or processed at our facility, to your policy. Drives and media are destroyed to NIST 800-88 using Blancco, ADISA-certified erasure software or physical shredding to certified particle sizes. For facilities with strict media-control policies, on-site destruction means no live data ever passes your perimeter.
Value Recovery on Decommissioned Estates
Data centre refreshes often release equipment with genuine resale value. Working servers, networking and storage under two years old — or up to four years old in volume — may qualify for rebates or an offset against the decommissioning cost.
