Free IT Collection
Free IT Collection for 20+ Qualifying Items Across the UK
Free IT equipment collection is available for businesses and organisations with 20 or more qualifying items. Computer IT Disposals (CITD) provides secure computer recycling, server disposal, IT asset disposal and certified data destruction services across the UK.
The Short Answer
- Have 20+ qualifying IT items? Your collection is free.
- Have fewer than 20? Exceptions may be available.
When Is IT Equipment Collection Free?
CITD offers free collection for 20 or more qualifying IT items. The equipment and collection details must be reviewed and confirmed when you book. The word “qualifying” matters: the condition, type and mix of equipment, the collection location, site access and any specialist handling requirements can affect eligibility.
If your collection qualifies, we will confirm this with you before the collection is arranged. If it does not meet the free collection criteria, we can explain the available options clearly so you can decide how to proceed.
Do You Have Fewer Than 20 Items?
Please contact us anyway. We can make exceptions for some collections with fewer than 20 items. Exceptions are considered case by case, so the quickest way to find out is to call us or submit the booking form with your item list, postcode and preferred collection details.
What Counts As A Qualifying IT Item?
A qualifying item is an item of business IT or electrical equipment that CITD has confirmed can be included in the collection. Not every item automatically qualifies, and a group of 20 items is not automatically guaranteed free collection. Send us an inventory—even an approximate one—and our team will confirm eligibility.
Equipment we are commonly asked to collect includes:
- Desktop computers, PCs and workstations
- Laptops, notebooks and mobile computing equipment
- Servers, rack-mounted hardware and storage equipment
- Network switches, routers, firewalls and communications hardware
- Hard drives, solid-state drives and other data-bearing media
- Monitors, displays, televisions and screens
- Printers, scanners and multifunction devices
- UPS equipment, batteries and power-related hardware
- Tablets, business phones and selected mobile devices
- Keyboards, mice, cables, docks and other IT peripherals
Mixed collections, server-room clearances and larger IT refresh projects can also be assessed. Tell us what you have, where it is located and whether any equipment contains business or personal data.

Redundant desktop PCs, workstations and associated equipment can be collected for secure processing, reuse where appropriate and responsible recycling. Data-bearing components are handled through the agreed data destruction process.
Learn moreLaptop Recycling
Business laptops can be included as part of a wider IT equipment collection. CITD can support secure data handling and provide documentation for the equipment processed.
Learn moreSecure Data Destruction
Computers, laptops, servers, drives and other devices may contain confidential or personal data. CITD provides certified data erasure or physical destruction according to the agreed requirement, helping organisations demonstrate responsible data handling.
Learn moreIT Asset Disposal (ITAD)
An IT asset disposal programme helps organisations track retired equipment, maintain accountability and document what happened to each asset. CITD can record equipment details and support an audit-ready ITAD process for one-off collections or larger refresh projects.
Learn moreServer Disposal & Decommissioning
Servers and related infrastructure require careful handling because of their weight, configuration and data risk. CITD supports server recycling and disposal, including decommissioning requirements for server rooms and larger projects.

Printers, multifunction devices and other office print equipment can often be included in a mixed business IT collection. Provide model types and approximate quantities so the team can confirm the collection arrangement.
